Homemade Oreo Ice Cream Sandwiches
Treat everyone at dessert time with these homemade delights! When you combine Oreo, chocolate and vanilla together, great things are bound to happen.
Homemade Oreo Ice Cream Sandwiches
Materials needed:
1 cup flour
1/2 cup cocoa powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp kosher salt
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 eggs
1/2 cup butter
1 1/4 cups melted chocolate
Wax/Parchment paper
Chocolate/Vanilla ice cream
Plastic/Saran wrap
Cookie cutter
Oreos
Instructions:
1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
2. Add the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda and kosher salt to a mixing bowl.
3. Whisk together the ingredients.
4. Add the sugar, eggs, butter and melted chocolate in a separate mixing bowl and whisk the ingredients.
5. Combine the two mixtures into one mixing bowl and stir.
6. Smooth the mixture flat onto a baking sheet covered with wax/parchment paper.
7. Put in the oven and bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes.
8. Line a baking dish with plastic/Saran wrap and fill it with the chocolate and vanilla ice cream.
9. Smooth the ice cream with a spoon and freeze it for one hour.
10. Use a circle cookie cutter to cut circles out of the baked mixture and the ice cream. Place the ice cream circle between a top and bottom circle of the baked batter.
11. Cut the Oreos into small pieces and place in a small bowl. Roll the edges of the ice cream into the Oreos so they stick.
These are easy to make before preparing dinner and can be stored away for a late treat. Why have oreos or ice cream when you can have both for dessert? Enjoy!
