Truck Driver Destroys Historic Bridge Because She Couldn't Do The Math
Did you ever sit in math class and wonder, "When am I ever going to use this stuff?"
I'm sure 23-year-old May Lambright is wishing she paid attention in math class. After driving a 30 ton truck onto a 6 ton max rated bridge, the Paoli, Indiana landmark has been destroyed.
Ms. Lambright explained to police she knew about the 6 ton weight limit of the 1880 historic bridge, but she did not know how many pounds that was. She went on to explain she had driven her personal vehicle over the bridge numerous times and was well aware of the "no semis, weight limit 6 tons" sign.
[[adcode2]]Lambright had only been driving a semi for a month and wasn't comfortable backing up on the road leading to the bridge. She made the horrible decision to chance it in her Volvo truck weighing five times the limit.
Unfortunately, there are no tickets for carelessness and Lambright will walk away with a $135 for reckless operation of a tractor-trailer while the trucking company drowns in legal problems.
When will I use this stuff?
Lambright's truck weighed five times the weight limit of the bridge. Too bad she didn't know that!

Unfortunate decision
With only a month of experience driving a semi, Lambright wasn't comfortable backing up on the road leading to the bridge. She made the horrible decision to chance it in her Volvo, and we all know how that ended.
