This Classic Riddle Has Everyone Stumped
This is a classic riddle that I remember from middle school math. I couldn't figure out the answer back then without getting a hint for the answer and I still can't today. I had long forgotten the solution to this math riddle and it took me a while to make sense of the answer even after I saw what it was. I guess you can say I'm a little rusty at this stuff.

Here it is again:
A bowl contains 8 litres of water.
You need to divide it into exactly 2 portions (4 litres each)
You have a 3 liter jug and a 5 litre jug.
The jugs have no measurement lines on them.
How would you do this?
I've outlined the steps of the solution after the image below. When you are ready to see the answer, please scroll down to see it.
Solution

Fill the 5 liter jug completely to the top.
From the 5L jug, fill the 3L jug completely to the top. You'll now have 3L in the 3L jug and 2L in the 5L jug
Pour the water out of the 3L jug. Now you have 2L in the 5L jug and nothing in the 3L jug.
Pour the water from the 5L jug into the 3L jug. Now you have an empty 5L jug and 2L of water in the 3L jug.
Fill the 5 liter jug completely to the top. Now fill the remaining space in the 3L jug using water from the 5L jug.Â
There was 1L worth of space left in the 3L jug so now, the 5L jug has 4L remaining in it.
That's one solution. Feel free to think of the other method in which this can be done and share it with your friends and family!
