11 Dogs Who Finally Found Their Forever Homes
Yesterday we posted an article on how Holland is making stray dogs in their streets a thing of the past. We love what they are doing to promote adoption over the purchase pure bred dogs. Increasing public awareness and encouraging families to think long term before adopting a dog has also helped them keep dogs offer the streets in and in loving homes. In spirit of adoption over purchase, we decided to share photos of 11 dogs who finally found their forever homes. The look on their faces when they are finally home will melt any heart. Some of them look like completely different dogs! What do you think of adoption over purchase of dogs?
Max
Max was severely neglected, as you can see from the before photos. He was suffering from mange, infected bite wounds, a fractured leg, hookworms, whipworms and an eye infection. He was rescued by a local vet and nursed back to health before being adopted by his forever-family. This after photo was taken only five months after Max was rescued!
Princess and Passion
These two found themselves in a shelter after their owner passed away. Now they are happy to have a new home - and even happier they got to stay together!
Amelia
This little lady went from rags to riches. She looks priceless and right at home in this Christmas photo.
Spokey
Dogs are so quick to fall in love with their new owners. This is Spokey just one day after being adopted. What a terrific turn around!
Pillow
Pillow is a great example that bully breeds have an undeserved bad rep. She looks quite cozy cuddle up in her new owners lap.
Steve
I have a huge soft spot for labs. Steve was spotted by a worker when he came to a home to install something. The owner said he didn't know where the lab came from and he didn't want him. Long story short, five minutes later Steve had lucked out in a big way and now looks happy and healthy.
Val
Val's owner had to give her up due to life circumstances. Things turned out okay in the end. In her after photo, Val is fast asleep in her real forever home.
Jasper
Jasper (a Pharaoh Hound mix) was adopted as a skinny puppy. Now he's a beautiful adult dog who loves his park play time.
Dylan
While Dylan had a great home, one of his owners died suddenly and the other was suffering from a brain tumour. He was housebound for a year, which lead to muscle atrophy. The remaining family couldn't take care of him, so Dylan made the trip across the UK to his new home. It took him a long time to adapt (he no doubt missed his original owners), but now he's back to his fun-loving self thanks to his second family.
Mr. Whiskey Party
It took Mr. Whiskey Party's new family all of five minutes to fall in love with him. After one minor surgery he was able to move into his new home where he enjoys fetch and sleeping with his favorite tennis ball.
Charlotte
She was found in rural Utah as a puppy in poor health. She looks scared in her before photo and was likely on her own since birth. As you can see in her after photo, she enjoys an active life style that includes several hikes a week in the beautiful country side she now lives near.
